hospital run - rp entry ((open to anyone going to the hospital with Tidus)) - TTU
Yuna had decided she wanted to make a coffee run to help her study that day. She hadn't gotten any sleep at all the night before since her floormates had been up half the night screaming about something or other. So, bleary-eyed and half awake, Yuna made her way to the coffeehop just off campus.
What woke her up that morning wasn't the coffee. In fact, she never got her coffee. What woke her up was the explosion on the other side of campus. Something in her mind snapped and she tore off in the direction of the noise. Deftly weaving her way through people, she used her long legs to basically dig a trail through the throngs of people gaping in the direction she was heading. At one point, she was sure she saw someone fly past her in the opposite direction, but she gave no heed. Her mind was on whatever had been blown up. If she could get there before too many people arrived, she could shield their eyes from whatever it was-
She nearly fell over herself when she came upon the scene of the explosion and realized who was lying on the ground. Her heart stopped for a split second as she saw the ambulance park and EMTs run up to the boy, strapping him down to a stretcher and getting him into the ambulance.
"Oh God... TIDUS!!" she screamed, her throat and eyes burning as she tore up to the EMTs. "Please, you have to let me go with him! I'm his girlfriend! I have to know what happened! I can make sure he can't see anything! Please, let me go with him!"
They weren't entirely happy about it, but when they realized she would be more help than hindrance, and that she wouldn't let them rest if they didn't, they reluctantly let her in. "He passed out a moment ago," one of them told her. "It looks bad."
Tears streamed down Yuna's cheeks as she lovingly stroked her boyfriend's hair. "Tidus," she murmured, sitting on a stool near his head. "Can you hear me?"
Oh God, please let him be okay.

"Hey Yazoo, I appreciate you calling and telling me, but I think I need to focus on helping Tidus through this right now. Let me know when you can talk and I'll give you word on Tidus if anyone asks, okay?"
She gave her cousin and friend reassuring smiles and turned back to Yazoo.

A thoughtful look crossed the blond's face, eyes narrowing a bit as he mulled the thought over some more.

"That was someone I met a little bit ago. His name's Yazoo and apparently he was there when the explosion occured." She shook her head sadly and sighed wearily. "But he couldn't tell me exactly what happened. I'll call him back when Tidus gets out of ICU." Turning back down the corridor, she put on a brave face and looked to Rikku. "So where was the food again?"

"Food sounds amazing right now. Onward we go my ladies!" he announced, pointing down the hall as he too tried to lighten the mood once more.

His reflexes had helped a good deal, and the amount of damage his body had sustained was much, much less than it should have.
The extent of the injury wasn't too bad, a broken clavicle and large bruise on his shoulder being the worst of it, along with a number of first and a couple second degree burns.
However, Tidus wasn't used to so much pain, and even unconscious and on a breather he continued to hyperventilate. The hospital staff decided to keep him in ICU until his respiration had stabilized.

"No problem Yuna. I'll stay as long as you want me to."
Not that he'd really ever admit it but he was kinda worried about Tidus...but most of his worry was for Yuna.
And that he would admit.

Yuna smiled at them both, feeling her heart lift a little at their words. It felt good to have people who were willing to stay with her and make sure she was okay, people who truly cared about her. Now all she had to do was wait for Tidus to come out of this and everything would be okay, wouldn't it?

She knew that Yuna was going to keep dwelling on the thought of Tidus and all the things she didn't know, which was exactly why the blond kept changing the subject, trying to keep an upbeat attitude. Rikku didn't want her cousin to get to bogged down with grief.
That wouldn't solve anything.

He wished there was more that he could do, but he knew, deep down, that the only thing that would make Yuna happy was for Tidus to wake up.
His heart sank a bit at the thought but he knew Tidus was what made Yuna happiest.
"See anything you'd like my lady?" he asked, smiling at her with soft eyes as he put those thoughts aside, and focused on being a good friend.

"Umm.. well the chinese looks really good. Why don't we start there and make our way down the line?" She was trying to get her mind off the things she couldn't change.

Finishing her food run, she looked around for a place to sit, finally finding a booth towards the back. "Let's go there," she suggested and led the way over.

She was glad to see that her cousin had relaxed a bit but she could still feel that..gloom that was hanging over Yuna.
Biting her lip a bit, the blond tried to think of a way to start up a fun conversation...but she was drawing a blank.

Glancing at the girls, his eyebrow lifted a bit.
"Does your food look safe?"
